The conversation list

The sidebar lists every conversation on the relay, newest activity first. A row tells you what the conversation is called, which provider runs it and whether it needs you. From the row you open a conversation, stop it, tidy it away with Archive, or remove it with Delete.

What a row shows #

Part What it tells you
Title The conversation's title. Its colour is the state of its session: see below.
Date and count When the conversation last changed (the time today, the date and time for an earlier day), and how many messages it has (1 msg, 12 msgs).
Provider Copilot, OpenAI, Claude, Cursor, Grok or DeepSeek. A Claude Cloud conversation reads ☁ Claude Cloud. An OpenAI Image conversation reads OpenAI. A conversation whose provider is not known yet carries no label.
N open The conversation has N question cards that wait for an answer.
via agent · "title" An agent started this conversation. See Agent sessions.
↗ name An agent on another relay, name, started it. See Remote relays.
watched Another conversation watches this one. See Watching sessions.
▾ or ▸ and a pill such as 3 · 1 running Added in 0.9.11 The row heads a group of sessions. See Session groups.

The title colour follows the conversation's session:

Colour State
Plain text Offline: no session process is running. The conversation is at rest.
Bright green Ready and working: the session process runs a turn or background work.
Darker green Ready and idle: the session process is running and waits for a message. In the light theme a muted green.
Red Question: the session waits for input, such as an answer to a question card.
Amber Error: the session reported a problem.

Added in 0.9.12 The open conversation's title in the header follows the same rule. Before 0.9.12, every ready session's title was the same green and a working one had animated dots after it.

The list is ordered by the time of the last change, newest first. Archiving and unarchiving count as a change. Sessions that an agent started sit indented under the session that started them, in a group that moves as one. The relay sends the list in pages of 40: the next page loads as you scroll down. The conversation you have open is highlighted.

Finding a conversation #

  • Filter conversations… above the list matches titles and ignores case. While a filter is active the list also loads the older pages, so it searches every conversation, not only the ones already loaded. × or Escape clears it.
  • 🔍 in the conversation header searches the text of messages across all conversations, archived ones included. It needs at least 2 characters.
  • The 🗄 button next to the filter switches the list to the archived conversations. A banner, Archived conversations, says so; Back to the list returns. The filter works in both views.

Right-click a row, or press and hold it on a phone, to open its menu. You can use these entries without opening the conversation first.

Added in 0.9.11 On a phone the menu opens when your finger lifts. A press that moves drags the row instead (see Moving rows). Where rows cannot move, in the archived view, while a filter is active and on a group's own name line, the menu opens while you still hold.

Entry What it does
Open Opens the conversation.
Edit title Opens the conversation and puts its title in edit mode.
Stop turn Stops the running turn after a confirmation. Greyed out when no turn runs.
Kill session Stops the conversation's session process after a confirmation. Greyed out when it has none.
Add to group…, or Move to another group… and Remove from group Puts the session into a group, moves it or takes it out. A member also has Move up and Move down, and a group's head row has the group's own entries.
Archive or Unarchive See below.
Delete See below. Shown in red.

Arrow keys move through the menu, Escape or a click elsewhere closes it.

Archive and unarchive #

Archiving takes a conversation out of the list without deleting anything. Use it for conversations you are done with but may want to read again.

Start it with the 🗄 button on the row (it shows while the pointer is over the row), Archive in the row's menu, or Archive conversation in the conversation's ⋯ menu. In the archived view the same places say Unarchive, with 📂 on the row.

What archiving does:

  • The conversation leaves the list and appears under 🗄. Its history, title and settings stay.
  • Its session process is stopped, and nothing starts it again while it is archived. A process that another live conversation still uses stays, and so does the Copilot process of an imported session the relay never ran.
  • Watching ends: subscriptions of the archived conversation, and ones that watch it, end. See Watching sessions.
  • A Claude Cloud conversation's session at Anthropic is archived with it, and brought back by Unarchive.

What it does not do: it deletes no history and no files, and the provider's own session record stays.

An archived conversation can be read, but its composer is disabled: This conversation is archived. Unarchive it to continue. A message that reaches it anyway, such as one from an agent on a paired relay, unarchives it.

The confirmation #

Added in 0.9.10 Archiving a conversation whose session process is still running (green in the list, idle or working) asks first, because archiving stops the process:

Archive this session? Its process is still active.

Archive goes on; Cancel or Escape keeps the conversation. A conversation with no running process archives at once.

A conversation that is still working is not archived. If a turn is running (this includes a turn that waits on a question card or an approval), the question reads Archive this session? It is still working on a reply. Even if you confirm, the relay refuses with a notice and does not archive later. The same happens while background tasks of the conversation run. Stop the turn or the tasks first, or use Kill session, then archive.

Delete #

🗑 on the row, or Delete in the row's menu, removes a conversation for good. The browser asks Delete this conversation? and nothing is removed before you confirm.

Delete removes:

  • the conversation, its messages, its question cards and plan boards, and its preview cards;
  • files you attached that no other conversation uses, and images the agent generated for it;
  • the conversation's session process, which is stopped first;
  • the provider's own session record, where there is one: see By provider.

None of this can be undone. Deleting is also not archiving: use Archive if you may want the conversation back.

A conversation that is still working is not deleted, and a notice says why: a turn is running, or background tasks are. Stop the turn, stop the tasks in the task panel, or use Kill session for a task without a Stop button, then delete. If the session process cannot be stopped, nothing is deleted and the notice asks you to try again.

A deleted conversation does not come back from the host's Copilot sessions the next time the relay starts.

Imported Copilot sessions #

When the relay starts, it imports the GitHub Copilot sessions stored on the host, through the installed Copilot runtime. They appear in the list with their history, so sessions you began in the Copilot CLI can be continued here. The import runs once, at startup: there is no button for it in the app. If the runtime is not available, the import fails and the relay does not guess the sessions from files. A session you delete is not imported again.

An imported session the relay has never run is only hidden when you delete it: its Copilot session stays on the host, and no process is stopped for it. Once the relay has run it, delete treats it like any other conversation.

By provider #

The list and the menu are the same for every provider. What differs is what Delete removes besides the relay's own copy:

Provider Delete also removes
GitHub Copilot, OpenAI The Copilot session, through the runtime. If the runtime cannot remove it at once, the request is kept and tried again.
Claude The session's transcript files under the Claude project folder of its working directory.
DeepSeek Added in 0.9.17 The Claude Code session in the relay's own DeepSeek folder: its transcript, its session folders, the files its stopped Claude Code left behind, and the project folder once no other session uses it. The spend it added stays in the DeepSeek card's totals. See DeepSeek.
Claude Cloud Nothing: the session at Anthropic is archived, not deleted. Archiving a Claude Cloud conversation archives it there too.
Cursor, Grok Nothing beyond the relay's own copy.
OpenAI Image The conversation's generated pictures, which are files on the relay's machine.

Archiving and unarchiving work the same for all of them, apart from the Claude Cloud session noted above.
