Sessions
A session is one conversation with one agent: you start it with a provider and a working folder, send it prompts, and it keeps its history until you archive or delete it. These pages follow a session through its life.
- Starting a conversationThe New chat dialog field by field: provider, model, reasoning effort, working folder, Claude Cloud repository, and what happens when you start.
- Relay modesThe four relay modes (ask, plan, agent, autopilot) set how freely an agent acts and when it asks you. Where you choose one and how each provider carries it out.
- Turns and the queueWhat a turn is, how messages sent during a turn queue up, how OAR decides a turn is stuck, every timeout with its default, and what a failed turn offers.
- Restarts and resumingWhat keeps a conversation alive in OAR, how Kill session and a relay restart work, what a restart keeps and loses, and how each provider resumes.
- The conversation listThe sidebar list of conversations: what a row shows, finding one, the row menu, archiving, deleting, and the Copilot sessions the relay imports.
- Session groupsHow OAR groups the sessions an agent starts under the session that started them, what the group's head row and pill show, folding, the group menus, and moving rows by drag and drop or keyboard.
- CompactingWhat /compact does, how Claude and Copilot compact long conversations on their own, the auto-compact window setting, and what is kept.
- Usage-limit pauseWhat OAR does when a Claude plan's usage limit stops a turn - the pause, the banner, Resume now and Cancel, and the warning before the limit.
